Now that Eli has saved Oskar's life, he is so deeply in love with her that even at the tender age of twelve he is prepared to forsake his parents and the happier days he is now enjoying at school to follow her to the ends of the Earth.

The next scene will be familiar to all those who saw the movie. Oskar is riding a train. There is a suitcase on the seat opposite him. On the floor at his feet is a cardboard box. Oskar hears some tapping coming from the box; it's Morse code for the Swedish word "puss", which means "little kiss". He taps the same word on the box.

This is where the movie ends, but the adventure is not over yet.
